Through HOSA, students Adhithi, Jessleen, Nhi, and Raneem have come together to create a community awareness project centered on women’s health education. The purpose of this project is to inform students, reduce stigma, and encourage open and honest conversations about important topics such as menstruation, pregnancy, and women’s health disorders.
As part of their initiative, Adhithi and Jessleen conducted interviews with girls around the school to evaluate the understanding of menstruation and pregnancy related facts. These interviews revealed both strong knowledge and common misconceptions, emphasizing the need for better education and awareness. By giving students a platform to share their responses, the interviews also helped normalize conversations surrounding women’s health.
At the same time, Nhi and Raneem focused on creating informative brochures that present accurate and accessible information about women’s health topics. These brochures were designed to be easy to understand while still providing meaningful educational value for students of all backgrounds.
To maximize outreach, the group developed flyers that are being displayed throughout the school and shared digitally. Additionally, they created Instagram and TikTok accounts to further engage the school community. On these platforms, they posted interview clips as well as slideshow style posts highlighting various women’s health disorders, their symptoms, and the importance of awareness and early understanding.
By using both in person and online methods, this HOSA project aims to reach a broad audience and foster a supportive, informed environment. Overall, Adhithi, Jessleen, Nhi, and Raneem’s initiative demonstrates how student led efforts can make a meaningful impact in promoting education, awareness, and community involvement in women’s health.
