The Ballard boys tennis team faced Trinity in a recent matchup, finishing with a 1–4 overall result. In doubles play, Booker Scharf and Luke Metzmeier competed for Ballard but were ultimately defeated by Trinity 1–8. Ballard also competed in several singles matches during the contest. Silas Wathen played a competitive match but ultimately lost 5–8, winning the first part but his opponent caught up in the end. Eban Stahl recorded the team’s only win of the day. Stahl played a close singles match that went down to the final points and secured a narrow 9–8 victory, which everyone appreciated
Although Trinity won the game 4–1 overall, Ballard continued to compete throughout each match. The team will look to improve and build on their performances as the season continues. This was their first game of the season and everyone played well and as hard as they could.
