There are a lot of clubs in Ballard High School, but few clubs combine professional development with our students. This article mostly dives into the current events going on with FBLA.

The Mission Behind them:-
According to Mrs.Napier, the FBLA’s main motive is clear: “to expand the students’ knowledge of the business world while simultaneously developing essential leadership skills”.
Megan Dohn, one of the Organizer of FBLA, told me some practical benefits of joining the organization. A key takeaway from the interview was the emphasis on professional growth. As Ms. Napier noted, “It gives you a real-world experience and working with business expertise.

P.J Night: Projects and pajamas:-
While FBLA focuses on professional excellence, it also knows how to foster a collaborative and enjoyable environment. One of the most talked about recent events is P.J. Night that happened on 22nd January 2026 (Thursday). Mrs. Napier highlighted that “these events provide a fun environment that is great for receiving feedback on ongoing work”. Students seem to agree that the relaxed atmosphere helps them to focus on their goals without the pressure of a traditional classroom setting. Mady Kerkhoff, a FBLA student participant, shared her thoughts on why the event is a staple for the club. “I think it’s a fun way to get together with the club after school and work on projects together.
In the end, by blending high-level business networking with student-led social events like P.J nights, FBLA is proving that professional development doesn’t have to be stiff, but it can also be collaborative. Like Ms. Dohn said, “We are excited for the regional. Let’s encourage them for the regional.
