With the Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA) conference taking place later this month in March, students involved in the program are actively preparing for the event. Students have been hard at work researching and representing their assigned countries, collaborating in groups to develop policy positions and debate strategies that they will present during the conference.
At the March 5th meeting, students had the opportunity to present their opening and closing statements to the group. This practice session allowed participants to refine their speeches and build confidence ahead of the upcoming assembly. Presenting these statements is an important part of the preparation process, as they will be used to introduce their country’s stance and summarize their arguments during debates at KUNA.
The club’s sponsor, Mr. Ransom, is also helping ensure that students are fully prepared for the trip. He is currently working with attendees to confirm that all necessary paperwork has been completed. This includes forms required for students who will be traveling to the conference and staying at the hotel during the event.
As the conference draws closer, students continue to finalize their research, speeches, and documentation. With their preparations well underway, the group is looking forward to representing their countries and participating in the discussions and activities that make KUNA a memorable and educational experience.
