There are events, and fun field trips like things to help preserve the historical environment and history of Louisville. Camp Zachary Taylor was the largest military training camp in the United States during the First World War. This presentation, given by members of the Ballard High School History Club, seeks to bring attention to a nearly forgotten part of Louisville history.
The club feels it is its duty to pay tribute to the Forgotten Generation 100 years later and keep the city thriving and sharing its old traditions. The club is inclusive and open to all, stated by students the club is a great environment and learning opportunities, and Mr rich is the perfect person to show this and run the club.
The Ballard Historical Society club is sponsored by Mr. Rich but mainly run by the students, the students enjoy working together to figure and learn more about the history of Louisville as well as rekindling it. We interviewed Emma Smead and she stated that the club has helped her learn more about her history as well as where she grew up, it also helped her make better friendships from the club as well as research better. It helped her on projects and connected history from one place to another. Most members of the club have started this as well and it also helps them all with leadership skills as well since they also have to speak to one another about the history they have researched or found or want to rekindle.
The club is growing year by year and many people involved say that it is worth joining and participating in, overall this club is a great environment and good for every student.
