The Ballard girl soccer team is united, friendly, and has a close sister-like relationship to one another. This season the thing that stood out to us the most was not their skill or athleticism, but instead was the positive energy and upstanding treatment to all of the teammates. When we went to the game on senior night, there were posters, cheering, and they were all very supportive of each other. This showed how the girls soccer team is a family showing true friendship.
One of the seniors, Amber Day, had to comment on the true friendship of the soccer team. She stated “ the team works extremely well together and it’s helped me make multiple friendships, multiple special friendships, that I will forever miss.” We also talked to a few more girls soccer team players and who had similar things to say. For example Eleanor Coffman had stated that the friendships on the soccer team are something that she will cherish forever and will always look up to. We had also interviewed a freshman who had told us that being new to the team is something she will always remember emphasizing how everyone took her in and made her feel comfortable on her first year of being on the team as a freshman.
The Ballard girls soccer team has shown amazing friendships that are made through the sport can be more than just a team, making the team more enjoyable and fun and the sport even more fun to play. The girls soccer team shows that friendships are necessary for a team and can improve everything around you.
