A devastating and nostalgic death occurred last night. At around 9;30 Monday night Tie Dye was found in his own home, doctors said the cause of death was unexpected illness. If you don’t know who Tie Dye was, they were an influential part of the 60’s and 70’s when they first got introduced into the new fashion trends, but also made a peak comeback to the trends in the 2010’s. Tie Dye was born on September 11, 1965. Tie Dye’s main family members are their late dad Spiral, mother Stripes, and sister Polka Dots. Tie dye’s mother is still a very well known pattern that many still wear and style. Tie dye’s father spiral has recently passed as the spiral is no longer “acceptable” to wear.
Tie Dye had a very large influence on style and patterns that you would see on a daily basis. Millions of people were making, buying, and selling Tie Dye of all patterns. Hippies started the trend of Tie Dye by dying t shirts in buckets of color and water, and soon expanded from just Hippies. Tie Dye also started to expand into more than just the typical t-shirt such as sweatpants, bucket hats, socks, and even some decorations.
We know that millions of people are devastated to see their Tie Dye gone so soon but we know it was for the best. And we are now seeing new patterns and trends take its place and become the new Tie Dye. In order to honor or pass down Tie dye’s name, there will be a Tie Dye honor fashion show made to showcase Tie Dye from all the years, from 12-4 pm at the downtown ballroom in Louisville Ky. There is also a charity website to honor and support the love for Tie Dye and their family during these devastating times.
